only some blog post featured images appearing

I just downloaded Mad Hat today and have found that the images were missing next to a lot of my blogposts. After some playing around, I went in to each post and selected a featured image, but when I go back to the main page of my site, about 30-40% of the images are still missing.

Anyone else run into this issue?
