    Hi
    My blog runs under the Themify template framework and sadly there is no inbuilt featured page widget. I came across your plugin and it looks to be exactly what I need, however I can’t get it to run on the post page. ( The admin section is fine)
    A few widgets have issues running under Themify, so understand I am not “blaming” you for any issue with your wee plugin which looks cool. Normally where there is an issue ( and I have only found a few niggly issues so far) the solution is to use Custom Widget Area plugin, create an area for the widget, then in the Themify builder, to load what they refer to as a widgetizer area which is a way to load the CWA into a page.
    You can also use the standard Appearance/Widget tool which has less issues but then you are fixed in your placement which doesn’t work for me. ( I tried this to see if it would run like this but that has the same issue which is kind of unusual in my experience so far with Themify).
    The problem I am having with the Featured Page widget is that only the Title ( if selected to be shown) displays, the rest is blank. Maybe you are aware of this or have come across it before- I couldn’t see any similar support request so not sure if you are familiar at all.
    I have left the widget running in the space at the foot of this page where it doesn’t do any harm ( it’s not the way I would usually display it but as an example its simple to demonstrate.) The title of the page being featured is “Swanswater” https://theunfamousfly.co.uk/oh-for-a-non-stretch-fly-line/
    Any pointers you might be able to offer to a fix, would be hugely grateful.

    @halleynet,

    Before we go any further, can you confirm that the Swanswater page has a Featured Image and Excerpt set? Please both check that it does and that the widget recognizes them on the backend. You should be seeing two green checkmarks as in this plugin screen.

    Ha
    Stupid me!
    You are in fact correct, I hadn’t specified a excerpt for the page I specified to be featured ( its an older page on my site so it’s not one I had excerpted when made!)
    I also just realised I don’t have the option of a feature dimage in a Page, only in a post, though I can live with that, I guess thats a function of the theme.
    sorry to bother you
    cheers

    Glad that was it. Marking as resolved.

    See the FAQ and check your screen options on “Edit Page.” Featured Image should be enabled by the plugin on pages and it may just be hidden.

    If not, you should be able to add support yourself in functions.php. You’ll likely need to use a function with a high priority, because something is probably interfering with the plugin if it’s really not there.
