Only show results meeting all qualifications?

    This may be a silly question. But is there a way to exclude non-selected tags from showing in the search results?

    For example, say I have posts containing cooking recipes and I want to filter only by what’s selected. I don’t want posts popping up which include ingredients (tags) I didn’t select.

    So for example, one recipe (post) requires the following 3 ingredients (setup as tags), water, pasta, and salt.

    If I do a search for the water tag, the post comes up. But I want the ability to only have the post to show up in the results if water, pasta and salt are selected from the tag field. (All required ingredients).

    Maybe something like “Must include all tags” may be handy? Ideally it would be an optional feature you can select on or off when performing a search. So the user can decide to be strict on the tags or not.

    Hi limeibook86, unfortunately not at the moment but I can see that being a useful feature – there is currently an option which is not added to the docs yet called operators which currently accepts values of “AND” and “OR”, I could see it being implemented here.

    Thanks for the reply! You’re very welcome for the suggestion.

    I may try and play around with the ‘and’ and ‘or’ (operators) coding, but I may be better off waiting for an example. ?? If you have one handy to share (either now or later), that would be great to add to the documentation.
