    Hello,

I am using Pass Thru mode and I have regenerated all images. When checking the Network tab, I am seeing many WEBP images are being loaded but not all. These other images are also in the Uploads folder so the WEBP versions should be loading right?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @yourbudweiser,

    Thanks for your message.

Pass Thru mode is an alternative and will not work with all images. This is very dependent on the theme. Please try to use via .htaccess mode. This mode works much better and faster.

    Best,
    Mateusz

Unfortunately, my server does not support .htaccess mode and they are unable to make the required changes. Is there any way to force specific images to load the WEBP version?

@yourbudweiser Do you have a Nginx server? There is an instruction in the plugin FAQ for configuring Nginx:

I am using shared hosting and can’t configure Nginx. Also, on my host imagemagick doesn’t support WEBP and they say they can’t enable it just for me.

So it appears I have two options: 1) Manually convert all images to WEBP and then replace them myself or 2) find a host that supports the features required by the plugin.

Any suggestions on such a host?

@yourbudweiser If you are using shared hosting, it should support the .htaccess file. Can you tell me exactly what message is displayed in red in plug settings? Please take a screenshot.

It does support .htaccess. In addition, imagick does not appear to support WebP format

@yourbudweiser This error indicates that your server supports .htaccess files. What exactly is hosting? The error message describes what settings on the hosting need to change. You can certainly do it yourself in the hosting customer panel.

If Imagick doesn’t support WebP format then you can use Gd library or Remote server. The second option will also give you access to the AVIF format, which gives even better results compared to WebP.

    I am using inmotion hosting.

I have looked through cPanel and do not see any settings for Nginx.
