• Hi Guys!

I have nearly finished a new project, and was really happy with the layout, but then when viewing it in IE 7 the vertical dependent layout was fubar. I have tried clear:xxx and overflow: hidden in what I think were the right places, but I can’t get the header banner (a widget) to show up in the same horizontal band as the logo no matter what I do.

I have run this through Dreamweaver to fix any browser compatibility issues, and fixed everything found.

Any help would be really appreciated! This is the most frustrating bug!!!

    Brian

    Sorry. I’m an idiot!

There seem to be more issues here than I originally thought. The text is all smaller and there is additional white space around elements in the footer. Again, only in IE, firefox is great.

Why bother with international standards and conventions if the big dog on the street ignores them?

You’re misisng some tags, but I think the image problems are float clearing, as you say, which sometimes I can’t get right myself. But you mght fix the missing <ul> tags and other errors in the footer: [Invalid]Markup Validation of wildsideassociates.com – W3C Markup Validator. Scroll down in the validation report to see line numbers and source code.

IE can be a real pain to make happy.

Thanks for the assist! I’ll give it a look.

I’m about convinced I’m finally going to have to learn about conditional tags, whether I want to or not.

    Best regards,

    Brian

In looking at the mark-up, nearly everything is in docs I pasted from word 2007. I’m going to run it through notepad to clean it and paste & format it in WP, just to see if it makes a difference. Interesting.
