• Hello,

I think this plugin is very usefull for the idea what we are thinking of. What I want to know is if it is possible to only have the group documents enabled. So not on the personal profiles of our members?

And, When creating documents in a private group, this documents will not show up somewhere else outside the group, is that correct?

    Regards

    Jap

  • Hello,
It is correct, if you configure it as private you will only see the associated group.
    Ondo izan!

    Hi Zuaz

    Thanks for the reply.

What I also want to know .. is it possible to only show/use the documents in Groups.. and not on the personal profiles of the users.

    Regards

    Jap

I don’t know if I’m understanding you well … I’ll explain how I have it on a website.
The administrator is the only one who uploads files, each group has its users. The admin uploads the file to the group that he wants to show. When users access it, they enter the group and have a files tab that is where they can download the loaded files … This can be done perfectly without complications … I don’t know if it’s something like that you’re looking for.

What I try to explain is this.

At this moment, on the personal profile of the members there is a button calling the documents section. So, the individual members are able to upload documents on their own profile.

Also its possible to use the documents function in a group.

I don’t want the users to be able to upload documents on their personal profile. I only want this possibility be active in the groups.

Is this possible? If you dont understand it, i will make some images to explain it better but for that I have to be behind my computer.

    Regards

    Jap

    It is understood!
When you create a group from Buddypress, there are group details, settings, the files tab and invite options.
In the file tab you have the option “Minimum role to associate Docs with this group” I suppose that putting the admin of the group is enough.
    I hope I have helped.

Ok thats a very good function of this plugin.

But, its not exactly what I try to explain. (language error)

This is a users personal profile page

    Click for image

On this page i dont want the users to have the abillity to upload documents. So, can I exclude this function of the personal profile pages.

    This is a group page:

Overhere Its okay the people can upload documents. So this is okay.

So, i do not want to see the documents menu button and functionallity on persons individual profile page. Is this possible?

And thanks for your patience ??

    Warm regards

    Jap

I think here you can find the solution and modify the menu by removing the documentation part: https://themekraft.com/customize-profile-and-group-menus-in-buddypress/

I hope I have been able to help you.

Thank, @zuaz, for your help in resolving this issue!

I agree that you could remove the user library access by using the BuddyPress Navigation API: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/navigation-api/#changing-the-position-of-the-users-notifications-nav-item

You could also try this additional plugin (from the author of BP Docs), that moves many of the BP Docs functions into the group interface (like Doc creation and editing): https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs-in-group

    Best,

Thank you both for the replies.

@david: is your second sollution a part of the plugin what I have installed? So Do I need this plugin to be installed.. and then install also the suggested plugin?

Or is it an acting alone sollution?

The plugin buddypress-docs-in-group should be installed alongside BuddyPress Docs.
