Only display 5 most recent posts on homepage

  • Hi there!

    I am having a problem with the post loop from Page Builder. I have the widget set on my home screen to display my posts in a descending order (by date) and I can’t figure out a way to only show, say, 8 of my most recent posts. The widget is set up to show a “next page” link with the grid option or to keep scrolling back through all my posts when I select the carousel option. But I just want to show the 8 most recent. Is this possible?

    With the Carousel option, it isn’t possible to limit the number of posts being displayed. The carousel is designed to sort of “infinite scroll” through all your posts.

    You could try using the Grid template option, but I can’t seem to find a way to limit the total number of posts shown. This might be a limitation in the get_posts function. I could be wrong though, does anyone else know if this is possible with get_posts? As far as I can tell, it only lets you limit the number of posts per page, but not in total.

    Well, that’s unfortunate. I guess I can learn to live with it. After all, it still looks very pretty.
