    Hello,

I have installed Site Kit on a new site, and after authenticating with my Google Account and following the 3 steps, I get a “success” message and go back to my plugin settings, only to find that the “Sign In with Google” page is the only option available. Even the Google authentication on the upper right shows that I’m logged in, but I can’t configure my plugin further. I’ve disconnected and reset Site Kit, then attempted to re-connect with no success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Ian

It looks like I’ve found the issue. The third step in the 3 step process links Site Kit to the Search Console property. Somehow it had created an https:// version of the site, and not an https:// version and was not associating the two accounts.

To resolve the issue I created an https:// version of my site in Search Console, disconnected my account from Site Kit, Reset Site Kit, then re-authenticated. All is working as intended now.

@iannerney Nice troubleshooting, glad to hear you’ve been able to get connected.

There can at times be issues with sites not being fully secure during setup, or having differing protocols configured in a WordPress setups general settings. We’re planning an update to the plugin which should mitigate some of these issues, which should be released later this week.

@iannerney just a quick follow up on your topic that we released a fix in version 1.5.0. While you resolved the issue yourself in this case, do not hesitate to let us know if you any further questions in the future.
