When I was at WordCamp Jax, I met one of the presenters (I don’t recall his name) who is one of the founders of Modern Tribe. I explained a couple of different issues to him to which he immediately found the issue and corrected it which I applied to my local version. One was a CSS conflict with the theme I am using (Divi), and the other is the ability to view upcoming months in the month month view. Time went by, and I forgot all about it, and this problem was again reported to me at which time I realized any updates I had applied probably over-wrote the fix. So I re-installed the version that was corrected and I have my functionality back. I am now not able to update The Events Calendar from 4.1.2 to 4.2.6.

Has anybody else reported this problem, and how was it fixed?

  • Hey @chill986,

    Thank you for reaching out.

It turns out that I am a Divi enthusiast myself.
To the best of my knowledge, Divi should run fine with our plugins.

To ensure customization and fixes do not get lost when updating, I would highly recommend using a child theme. There is even a child theme creator for Divi available for free if you Google it up.

To help you further, could you provide us with the version of Divi you are using and perhaps an URL to your site ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

I have a child theme. I don’t believe this is a theme issue, or a conflict with another plugin. Your founder was able to fix the issues I had with about 20 minutes of research and coding.

I am using the latest versions of everything except your plugin. And of course your plugin has been modified, so changes are lost when I update the version. Can you find out who it was that attended WordCamp Jax? He more than likely will remember helping me.

I also have a problem with running your plugin on my iphone. On my ipad, the calendar header format shortens the days of the week to 3 characters, but doesn’t do so on my iphone. So the headers all run together.

The URL in question is https://bmwnef.org/events/. Thanks for your help!

Again, it’s working fine right now, but when I update to the current version, I can’t view / download future months, and my header doesn’t shrink upon scroll. I prefer to keep all my software versions up to date.

Hi @chill986! Thanks for following up. ??

I know it’s far from ideal but if you could either install the update so we can see the issue in action, that would be awesome. Another idea might be to spin up a test site instead so it doesn’t interfere with the live site. I know we only monitor these forums once a week, so the test site might be the best bet.

Thanks for your help here! We definitely want to figure this out and see what’s up.

    Geoff
