• Hi,
I’ve set up Memphis Docs as the file management solution for a client’s website – they require a set of Executive users to be able to access the Dashboard to upload and manage files, and all other users to just be able to download files through a front-end page. This is all working fine.

An issue I’ve run into while setting up the site is with the Batch Edit/Move/Delete buttons – even if an Executive user selects all files in a folder, these will only show files that the specific user has created or been marked as a contributor for, and will display blank otherwise (even when the Batch Edit checkbox has been ticked for that user in the settings screen). It’s my goal for all users with the Executive role to be able to use these functions on any file.

Is it possible to allow a user role to use Batch Edit on all files? Or in the alternative, is there some way of setting the default “Contributors” entry for all uploads to include this user role?
Either of these would avoid the issue of having to instruct the users to manually add the Executive role as a contributor for each and every upload, and potential confusion that could arise from them forgetting to do this.

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Lachlan

Hi I am having a similar problem. I have set up a clients site to archive a large quantity of files and these inevitably need some moving within the file structure.
only the specific user that created the file can use the batch move/delete etc to do this as Lachlan has mentioned.

Thanks for your hard work looking forward to the solution soon

the only solution you have for this is to:

one: allow a certain role type to use batch edit, that can be done in settings
two: as admin add the specific role type to edit file using the batch edit tool.
