Only certain category/categories on homepage

    For something so simple I thought it would be easy to find a solution, but as yet I haven’t found a single one I could successfully implement.

    Basically, I only want posts from a certain category on the homepage. I’d rather not require a plugin for this, but I have tried a few already and due to little to no explanation on how to use them haven’t been able to get this working.

    Any help would be hugely appreciated.

    You do need a plugin.
    Which one did you try and why dind’t they work? Which WP version?

    Version 2.1

    I had a look around, and then attempting “Customizable Post Listings” and “Custom Query String” but I didn’t really find any information on how to actually use either. I’m usually quite good working things out but perhaps its just the tiredness.. ??

    Am I way off track or are these plugins to best way to do it?

    None of those are for what you want.

    This plugins is exactly for that: showing/hiding categories on the main page – https://ryowebsite.com/?p=46
    but use it at your own risk with 2.1

    There’s a new plugin out similar to the one moshu links. I’ve not tried it yet, but it says it was written for 2.1 so…?
