When I try to proceed with the installation, a message saying “Only authenticated users can access the REST API” appears and I cannot proceed. How can I become an “authenticated user”?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @koheys,

That message is neither a WordPress (REST API) nor a Solid Security plugin message. So my best guess is that it’s a message generated by another (yet unknown) plugin.

So started a search using Google and found that this message is generated by the Password Protected plugin. Are you using this plugin?

If so, you should probably enable “Allow REST API Access” under Protected Permissions.

According to the Password Protection plugin 2.6.8 Changelog:

Fix: Gutenberg compatibility issue fixed – REST API was getting blocked

Make sure to update the Password Protection plugin to the latest release (2.6.8) ??
