Only activated emails (buddypress) to sync to Mailchimp

    Hi,

    I realized that Mailchimp subscribers are synced as soon as a user created an account, despite activating their email addresses.

    Should there be a setting where Mailchimp only sync buddypress users after they have activated their emails?

    Can you please share a screenshot of the BuddyPress integration of our plugin settings? You can find it at “MC4WP > Integrations (BuddyPress)”.

    Also, are you only use our “MC4WP” plugin or any add-ons such as our old “User Sync” plugin?

    Yes I am using user sync plugin, I recently disabled the auto-sync because I realized the mailchimp unsubscribed user gets subscribed again. I guess it is coming from auto-sync.

    Hey Emily,

    Please note that we have disabled and removed the “User Sync” add-on as we no longer support it. After you disable it, are users automatically added to MailChimp.com?

    Also, please note that the Buddy Press integration will automatically add the users to MailChimp if they select our checkbox on the BuddyPress registration page. It would not wait for the user to verify their email, etc.

    Hi,

    The users are automatically added to mailchimp when I set the Implicit to Yes. The moment a user signs up, they are subscribed to mailchimp. I do not want this to happen hence I set Implicit to No where user needs to manually subscribe to mailchimp by enabling it through checkbox in the registration form, which may impact my business performance…

    What I am looking for is:
    1. No checkbox in registration page
    2. Plugin auto sync user to mailchimp as soon as they activate their buddypress accounts
    3. Plugin does not sync user to mailchimp if they do not activate their buddypress accounts

    It would be great if you have a solution to this.

    Hey Emily,

    I regret to say we do not have a feature for this either in the free or premium version. You might need to find some other BuddyPress specific integration to make this happen.
