Hi, I bulk converted all my images and I can see the webp versions on my server. However, when my home page is loaded, only one webp image is loaded. The rest are jpg or png. There is one image – Big-Kahuna-sunkissed-1206×800.png that is almost 1MB in size. The webp version exists, and is much smaller, but is not being used?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @resortstylebeanbags,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you have encountered a problem with our plugin. Do not worry, I will try to explain you everything below.

I ran a test on your website. I simulated browsers with and without WebP support to make sure everything was working. Thanks to this, I can check how much your original images weigh (i.e. what was before installing our plugin) and how much the images converted by our plugin weigh.

Here are the results of my tests (I am also sending screenshots as attachments):

This means that the plugin is working properly and all images are displayed in the version converted by the plugin.

Below I have attached the instructions:

If you encounter any other problems, please, feel free to reach out to me.

    Best,
    Mateusz

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. When I first checked, the webp versions were not being served. But checking again now, I can see they are now being served.

    A couple of questions:

    • I am using WP Rocket to preload the cache and speed up the site using other features. Will this cause any issues with serving webp images?
    • Pagespeed feedback for mobile is still reporting long load times, and saying to use next gen image formats like webp. Is this because the tool does not work with my setup? (The page speed report seems at odd with my experience if I load the site on my mobile – it’s definitely not slow) – Pagespeed images linked below

Pagespeed also tends to jump around a lot. Earlier tonight, it was giving a score of 80 for mobile.
