Only 1 post showing when not logged in

  • I recently noticed that only 1 post was showing in the fronpage. I had made no changes, other than upgrading a theme and converting the blog to utf-8 from latin-8859, and several other minutiae. ??

    So, I changed to another theme, and another, and, yet another. All themes exhibit the same behavior. Only 1 post shows when you visit the site. After I log in, it shows all the posts. I changed how many post to show to 11, just to make sure this was not the problem.

    I have not touched a line of code in WordPress, or in its themes, lately. I am surprised by this recent behavior, and worried.

    There is nothing that I can find in the forums to lead me in the right direction. Please share any ideas about what may be happening.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks Esmi! I have tried all of the above with no success. Only one post shows when not logged in. I have a working blog for an audience of one: me. If something else comes to mind, please let me know.

    The 1 post problem impacts other site areas as well. Even when logged in, when I go to see multimedia images, I can only see the last image uploaded. I have cycled through themes, moved the installation to 3.0 beta 1, disabled all plugins, and the problems persist through it all. What the h3ll might be g0ing on?

    I am up to 3.0 Beta 3 and the 1 post problem remains. If anybody has any ideas, please help!
