online WordPress breaks images?

  • Hi,
    I was wondering if someone could shed some light which im new to wordpress. Im trying to set up a small test webpage to see how it works. I followed few tutorials and im setting it up on WAMP. I can see the webpage perfect by going localhost/wordpress but when i put WAMP online and go to 192.168.3.253/wordpress shows the images broken. I did forward the ports even though its on the same LAN network for testing purposes.

  • it’s related to wordpress’s site URL setting, you can set it as 192.168.3.253/wordpress but then, when you reach it through localhost/wordpress, the site will be broken.

    (the option is under settings -> General.
    I don’t know if there is a solution to make them both work because I never needed it.

    Thank you for the reply, Well right now i just made an A host on godaddy with my domain pointing to my WAMP server. As i go to mydomain.com it shows the WAMP server instead of the webpage. Could I change that?

    You’ll have to set VirtualHosts in your wamp server to route the domain name to the folder you need (/wordpress).
    Look for set up WAMP Virtual hosts in google.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the reply, I fixed it by taking everything out of the wordpress folder and putting it the WWW folder. Then i went to my myphpadmin changed the location to https://mydomain.com
    and changed the wordpress from localhost to https://mydomain.com had to delete all the imagines because they were with local host re-added them and fixed it ?? thank you again
