That was actually a typo in the settings, as that option was originally intended just for the widget, it should have read:
If checked, Ongoing events will be shown at the bottom of sign up sheet lists (in widget, if enabled).
should have said “in widget” instead of “and widget”, since the code to move those to the bottom was only for the widget, since the widget only shows a limited number of sheets in its list.
For the main sheet list called by the shortcode, it’s always displayed by the start date, and ongoing events are always on top.
However, it’s just a few lines of code to copy what I used in the widget to move those to the bottom, so I can add that in to the main sheet display function. It’s either that or make the settings text more clear that it only works for the widget, so might as well just add that in to make it do what it currently says.
