One WordPress as a Multi e-commerce

  • Dear All,

    I want to do an e-commerce web site using wordpress. But I have few business domains Like , shoes, watches , cosmetics …etc.

    I want to put them all in a single domain . for instance if I have a registered domain called 123xyz.com , I want to put those all business on one domain (123xyz.com).

    Its not about creating different product categories.

    without installing more WordPress , can I use only one WP for this purpose ?
    for example : 123xyz.com/shoes
    123xyz.com/watches
    123xyz.com/cosmetics ….etc

  • If you want separate shops for each product type instead of just creating top-level categories (sounds like a nightmare to me) you can look at creating a network installation and create the different shops in each separate site. You can use a sub-folder set up to do this the way that you’ve suggested.

    Just be aware that this will create a whole lot more work for you. You need to create, set up and maintain a separate WordPress site for each store. If you did it the smart way and used top-level categories then you’d only need one site, one set up, etc. I’d really recommend that you keep it at one site and set it up properly.
