• This plug-in is good and it’s useful. BUT understand, in advance, that once you convert your posts into a knowledge base article with it, there’s no built-in way of bringing it back. If you convert your posts to articles and then decide to uninstall this plug-in at some point, they’re just gone without any notification.

The developers say that they are just prioritizing their constrained resources (which I get) and they point to some third-party tools for reverse-migration. I just ended up recreating all my posts rather than going through that hassle.

It’s an unacceptable response. As a tool builder, you need to abide by the “do no harm” maxim. Making it easy to convert users’ posts to your particular format without making it easy to revert them back if they change their mind is just bad form in my view. Personally, I think it borders on the unethical.

UPDATE: In our plugin version 12.31.0, we’ve released our own conversion tool for selected articles, should the need arise. Now user has two options to switch articles to posts or posts to articles: our free conversion tool or Post Type Switcher plugin.
