One time printout purchases

  • Hi,

    I have a customer who would like to sell sheet music but when purchased there would be 2 purchase options.

    1. One time print out option that prints directly from the browser and then is not accessible after printing.

    2.eBook purchase to allow people to view in the browser only.

    I think I could do part 2 with an eBook creation and sale plugin but it is the first part I am really struggling with.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Each of your scenarios are a little more restrictive than what I’ve seen done with the majority of plugins. For example, WooCommerce digital product handling allows you to limit a digital product to a single download, but the user would not be prevented from printing it multiple times once downloaded.

    You’d probably need some kind of PDF Embedder plugin with print functionality alongside a memberships plugin that allows you to restrict a page to specific users.

    The second option is a bit tricky too, as an eBook that can only be read from within the browser is unlikely to be totally secure. That being said, a similar embedder setup would likely work.

    Is the need to make the printing one time only a solid requirement?
