one specific permalink not working

Can you view the same page via preview?

Also try changing the perma link of this page to something e.g. gallery-new and then access it.

When I preview https://www.dirkgeeroms.be/gallery via the preview option on the back end, I see the same page as that one showed via the front end.

I changed the permalink to gallery-new and now the right page is redirected via https://www.dirkgeeroms.be/gallery-new.

However, if I change the permalink back to gallery, then the permalink is not working as it was not before.

Could I somehow clean the database so I can still use the permalink gallery instead of gallery-new?

Do you have a plugin installed for images/galleries?

If so, it may have reserved the slug “gallery” for its own use.

This is a wild guess, but something similar happened to me before.

Yes. It is possible that a plugin / theme is already using this slug due to which it doesn’t let you use it as @jason King mentioned.

I have indeed a plugin installed for images. You both are probably right guessing that the slug “gallery” has already been reserved by that plugin. So I will use a different slug for that page.
