One single string that dosent get translated

  • Hey Tim,

    i already read “PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING” and the “Most asked questions” but I didnt find help.

    My Website is live and has 300-500 Visitors daily, so I cant just change the theme.
    The Theme I use is Newsmag and the Plugin I need help with is WooCommerce Germanized.

    Everything on my Website is tranlated and many of the strings with Loco, so the plugin is realy great.

    But there is one string, that dosent get translated, its by the “Neues Kundenkonto anlegen” thing.
    Yes, I’d like create a new account and have read and understood the data privacy statement.

    Generally speaking, if you’ve translated the string and the file has been saved then Loco Translate has done its job. The rest is down to the plugin that uses the file.

    If I were to guess as to the problem. A quick glance at the code shows that this text is stored in a site option called “woocommerce_gzd_customer_account_text” (which presumably you can configure some where in the many settings screens). It’s not uncommon for English text to get saved into custom text options prior to translation. The text displayed is then pulled from the option and not the translation files.

    I’m not saying that’s the issue, but it’s where I’d start looking. If you can’t find it, then you’ll have to work it out with the plugin developer as it’s not an issue related to Loco Translate.

    The plugin ships with two languages: German and Formal German. In addition, you’ve installed the community translations. Hence you have four versions. Only one of these will be used. If you have de_DE as your site language then the System file for German is the one that will be loaded (third down in your list).

    As a side note: you should not edit installed files. See my guide to customizing existing translations.
