One post and One Category on Home Page

  • Hi

    I want to display a three col front page.
    Col one will be nav with the last posts from a category called newsletters.
    Col two will be the welcome bit.
    Col three will be a gallery. But the gallery needs to change and be changed by users not by me. So I want to display a single post in this column.
    How do I go about steps 1 and 3 please?
