• So I’m having a rather weird and annoying problem with my wordpress installation. I have custom permalinks set up on my site, and all them seem to work fine except for one in particular. Following this one link gives me a GoDaddy 404 error page (this one, to be exact: https://www.velvetblues.com/wp-content/uploads/godaddy-404-error.gif ).

Just to give a little background on what might’ve caused this problem: I had just moved my wordpress installation over from a temporary directory into the root of my domain, and the site seemed to work perfectly, including this permalink. I had my old link to this page (in my old temporary directory where the files I’d copied still were) open in another tab, so I decided to refresh it just out of curiosity to see what would happen. I got a blank page, and from that point on this particular permalink has been broken. I’m wondering if I might have possibly messed up my database when I refreshed this old page?

Nothing seems to be resolving the problem for me, including disabling and reenabling permalinks and even trashing and restoring the page, and the slug for the page suggests that my permalink should be working. Changing the slug for the page does resolve the issue, but I’d really like for my old slug and old link to work.

Any ideas? If it’s an issue with the database, how might I resolve it?

One more thing I thought I’d mention: I’ve tried deleting/restoring the .htaccess file and haven’t had any luck with that either

What is the link to the page that is not working ?

Had to change the page’s slug back because I didn’t want the link to be dead on the live site, but I’m fairly confident the problem lies in my database. Anyone have any ideas as to where I should look for the key that might be causing the trouble?

Can you look in the trash section for your pages and see if there is another page called portfolio ?

Definitely not a trashed paged called “portfolio;” I realize if there were, the slug for a new page entitled “Portfolio” would default to portfolio1 or something like that.

Did a restore of my database and it still didn’t seem to resolve the problem.. very odd. Wonder if it’s an issue with GoDaddy or something?
