• Hi, I made a one-page website with smooth scroll using bento theme. I also used Site Origin plugin.

It is working fine, but with chrome brwowser the scrolling does not stops a the right position. It stops too early. I found out that the more SiteOrigin widgets are inserted between header and anchor (#), the earlier the scrolling stops.

    I contacted SiteOrigin. They wrote:
“What you’re experiencing is an issue occurring as a result of the smooth scroll on your website not being able to factor in height changes of elements of your page after load. The smooth scroll on your website looks to be added by your theme so you’ll need to reach out to them for assistance with this issue. Alternatively, you can prevent this from occurring by using a smooth scrolling plugin that accounts for this sort of thing – like Page scroll to id.

    My questions:
1.) How can I fix the smooth scrolling error in combination with Chrome?

In case this is not able to be fixed.
2.) How can I deactivate Bentos smooth scrolling, in order to use a different smooth scrolling plugin?

    Thank you
    Johann

Hello Johann, thanks for choosing Bento! I’ve tested your website in Chrome and the top menu item links seem to be working as intended, scrolling to the “Wir finden es für dich” and “Bernhard Konrad”, respectively. The thing you’re experiencing can’t be caused by what was described by SiteOrigin because our theme scripts are triggered on page load ??

Having said that – could you please describe a sequence of steps that leads to an unexpected bahaviour in your case? This will help me reproduce the issue and propose a fix.
