I have a custom template for each page, and for some reason one page has the same template as two others but that one page is not working. It goes to page not found even though it clearly is there. Any ideas. I’ve been working on this for 6 hours now, so any thoughts towards this are appreciated.

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

it’s a custom theme. It’s basically just an html page I put below that short php template snippet. the other pages are similar but this one does not work. also when I go to the page on wordpress and click ‘view preview’ it works. when i paste the url and click enter it works. but when I click the link to go there it does not work

sorry. this is the link. it’s completely custom

If you click smokin hot downloads button it’s not found but if you type it into another browser it might work.

Just try it though please. Maybe it’s the cache.

Also when i put it on e explorer (as opposed to chrome which i’m using) i see it adds %E2%80%8E to the end. When i erase that the link works

That sounds like a malformed link pasted in from elsewhere. Try typing that link into your custom menu.

Incidentally, workonyourwordpress.com appears to be in breach of the WordPress trademark policy.

also it works when i type it in the url, but not when i click the link, but the urls are the same on both. i checked the css. i don’t think there is anything on the css that could have affected it

I don’t get it esmi. The I looked at the view source many times. The link is exactly the same address…it just doesn’t work unless you type it in and press enter.

Also, Workonyourwordpress.com is non commercial and was for a meetup group where I taught beginners wordpress, and it plans to make no profit.

ok, so i figured out it adds %E2%80%8E to the link. googling right now

Ok, getting closer. hovering over it gives a link different than the link that you click on

Has something to do with this, but I’m still looking for the space

Wow. There was a hiddenspace. I copied into notedpad. Even though there was no visible space I tried movien that bar thing and it didn’t move. I replaced the old code after erasing the hidden space and it worked. That took about 8 hours to find. Time to work on the important stuff now.
