• Hi, downloaded Bento theme to make a One Page site. Created a new page as per instructions to be in ‘one page mode’ in the Bento online manual, selected Page Builder to add a layout, chose a pre-made layout. Published the page.

    RESULT:
The home page is in One Page Mode, but there is a gap between the Header and the hero image. The ‘home page’ can be seen underneath in this gap as if the static page is there as well.

How can I fix this? What am I doing wrong.

I hope you understand what I’m asking.

    Thanks.

    Hey @zeroset,

thanks for choosing Bento! Please try ticking the “Hide title” checkbox in the General Settings box under the main content area while in the page edit view.

Thank you, that worked. But, now I’m not sure how to affect the header so it is underneath the hero image, scrolls with the page and is transparent.

By the way, this is a great template.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I now realize that my second question is, how do I get the ‘one page mode’ header to take over from the static page header?

The header that is there now seems to be the standard header that is controlled by using the header options for a standard page. I can’t seem to get the hero image to be the entire image with it’s own transparent menu that scrolls responsively.

If there are instructions for this, they are not clear to me. I thank you for your help.

EDIT: Yes, I have tried the ‘extended header’ options but only get the same result. The hero image does not cover the entire page, there is still the header with a white background at the very top of the page.

    Hi,

Also, there seems to be no way to change the font and font color of the ‘site identity’ in the header. Where are these options, please. Nothing I do affects them. They remain purple. Seems like the controls are all over the place in this theme. Perhaps you can give me some clue as to the general logic behind where controls are placed for the Header.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

In a nutshell, how do I make my page like your theme demo page? I have been all over the place in the page builder, page editor, customizer, etc. and cannot find the right combination to make a full one page header with a transparent menu header that has a fixed scroll and in which I can change the font color of the site identity words. There is no place I can find to even change the color of the font (not the menu color, I have found that) for the name of my site.

At this point, I’m beyond frustrated. Please, give me a clear, step by step set of instructions here. I have been all over your online manual and, I’m sorry, but it’s just not clear enough.

This is the theme page I would like to know how to make: https://satoristudio.net/bento/

Again, much thanks for your kindly assistance. I’m hoping to be able to purchase this theme’s full version, but until I find out how to make a one page site in this way, I’m just too frustrated to purchase it.

    Thank you.

    Hello @zeroset,

I will go over the things you’ve requested step by step:

    1. To get a transparent header that overlays the header image, please visit the edit view for that page and tick the “Transparent website header” checkbox in the “Page Header Settings” box.

    2. To make the header stick to the top of the page on scroll, visit the “Appearance – Customize” admin section (since it’s a site-wide setting, it’s there rather than in a single page’s edit view). Open the “Site Elements” tab and tick the “Fix header on top of page on scroll” checkbox”. Don’t forget to save the changes with the blue button in the right corner of the Customizer!

In case there are still questions that weren’t covered above, please let me know!
