One or the other, never both

    Hi!

    I have a site in Spanish at https://www.swed.info, and a Swedish version of the same site running at https://www.swed.info/sv/. Each one has its own admin-panel. The strange thing is that the language version I visit last is kidnapping the other one. No matter the adress I write in Firefox or Chrome, my browser will show the page in the language I visited last. Even the login at swed.info/sv/ redirects me to the main domain in Spanish. Shortcuts help me to get where I want but I wonder if I did something wrong here. I have had twin sites likes this before but maybe browsers evolved in a way that makes this kind of installation not good anymore.
    Any suggestions?

    Is this multisite or two separate sites?

    Ipstemu,

    sorry but I ignore what multisite is… I made two completely independent installs and do not have any links in between the sites. The Swedish one is placed in an undercatalog of the domain (www.swed.info/sv/) while the Spanish is in the root (www.swed.info)
    Is that the problem? Should I have chosen multisite installation (if there is such thing)?

    Could someone point me to a document? At least I can start reading what this multisite thing is….

    I will read it carefully, esmi.
    I hope I can get to you with further questions. After reading this, I guess the first one will be. do you recommend a new installation?
    Luckily I am at the start of the site. For a couple of years I had an installation like this and this kind of problem didn’t arouse.

    Well if you’re NOT using Multisite, then this is a different answer is all ??

    Whaty’s in your .htaccess files? You should have one at / and one at /sv/

    There are two .htaccess files, one for each level.
    As far as I can see they are identical. The only difference I could see is that the root level has
    Header set X-Powered-By “W3 Total Cache/0.9.2.11”
    while the /sv/ installation has
    Header set X-Powered-By “W3 Total Cache/0.9.2.8”

    I don’t know if this could be important.

    I moved one site to a subdomain an the problem disappeared.
