(One off) Assign Product image to Category Image

    Hello gazchap

    Instead of running your plugin script and worrying about extra background process and performance, why not assign a random product image from a category to category image thumbnail as a One off process?

    Just like running a batch. When I activate your plugin, it should say how many categories does not have thumbnail.

    And then I click assign and product images are assigned.

    Now I can deactivate your plugin and it should still work.

    Is this workflow possible?

    It’s not currently possible, but I can certainly add it in as an option. I specifically didn’t want to do it this way because, although there’s a performance cost, it adds “dynamism” to the site.

    The transient usage is designed to mitigate the performance cost of doing this for every page load, of course.

    I’ll have a think about whether I’d want to see such an option going forward, though, thanks for the suggestion ??
