one comment ban

  • Looking for a plugin that will allow someone to make one comment per post or page. After that IP makes a comment, if they try to comment again they will either receive a message or be redirected to another page without being able to make another comment.

    It’s a 1 comment ban.

    I’ve been searching the “wordpress plugins” for 3 weeks. I’ve seen it before, but I can’t find it.

  • Be careful using IP addresses for ban lists – most ISPs issue them dynamically, so you could end up with dozens of different users per day having the same IP address given to them at different times. Also think about people using internet cafes, wifi hotspots etc – lots and lots of people re-using the same IP address and even computer in the same day. Wireless roamers too, drifting from cell zone to cell zone – different IP address each time they turn the corner.

    You could end up with no-one able to post comments after the first person on each post.
