I have problems with updating the free version of UpdraftPlus. I run the latest version of WordPress. Last time I tried the one-click update of UpdraftPlus in WordPress, the plugin was deactivated automatically because the update failed. It was removed from the plugin list, but after deleting the updraftplus folder through FTP-connection I was able to install the plugin again through WordPress. I took backup and it completed successfully. Today I tried the one-click update, and I got the message “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.” I tried to update again, but nothing happened. The plugin seems to be updated, because it says “Your plugins are all up to date.” I removed the error message by deleting the “.maintenance” file located within the main directory. Any ideas for what I can prevent this recurring error “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.” from happening in the future? Should I contact my hosting company?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Yes, please can you contact your hosting company and ask why the installation process could not complete.

    Best Wishes,
