Hey all, I do a lot of installs with a handful of themes and plugins. I’m looking for a (php?) script that will prompt for database details to create the database, as well as a choice of themes and plugins.

The themes and plugins would be from some sort of local repository.

I’d basically create the site, upload the script, and run the installer.

Does anyone know of a script that can accomplish this?

  • Install from cpanel.

I do much what you describe using filezilla. I have all the core files, themes and plugins on my local machine, and use filezilla to throw them at the server, quick enough and very reliable.

I use phpmysql to create the database and database user etc.
I then manually create my wp-config.php file and upload it.

Not as automated as you asked for. I guess that you could script it all in a php page.

Yeah that’s basically what I do now. Just looking for something more automated.

Give https://wproller.com/ a try. Builds a custom install for you.

WProller looks like an awesome service but I’m thinking Multisite will do the job. I’ll see how it goes. ??

The installation took about 2 days to get right but it’s been ok since that.

Thanks to everyone that took time out of their busy day to reply. Much appreciated.
