One category on the index page

Hi!
I want to have two columns on my indexpage;
One column that shows posts that belongs in a special category like “resources”.
In the other column I would like to post ALL the other posts except the posts that belong in the category “resources”.
Is there an easy code or a hack that can do this?
I just want a typical listing of post except posts in a certain category and vice versa…
