    Hello,

Hope someone had the same need to make an Onclick for input type text to empty the field content. Elementor pro support does not help with that. So how to add an Onclick event in the form to a specific field so user don’t have to select and erase the placeholder text to write his own value?

Also, a second concern with Elementor Pro form: On mobile phones, when using a form with steps, clicking on the Next button (next step), we always view the bottom of the form since the length is bigger than the screen. The user must realize that & must scroll to the top! Not user friendly nor conversion friendly! It’s like I need to add an anchor to the top of the form’s steps so loading can be made on top of the next step. Any advise?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello @marquopolo,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions regarding custom functionality within Elementor Pro forms.

Regarding your first inquiry about implementing an onClick event to clear placeholder text in a specific field, Elementor Pro forms do not currently support this feature out-of-the-box. However, you may consider exploring custom JavaScript solutions to achieve this functionality. You could attach an onClick event listener to the input field in question and utilize JavaScript to clear the placeholder text when the field is clicked. Alternatively, there might be third-party plugins available that offer this functionality, so it’s worth exploring the WordPress plugin repository or other reliable sources.

As for your second concern regarding form steps loading at the bottom of the form on mobile devices, improving the user experience in this scenario may require a more intricate solution. One approach could involve adding anchor links at the top of each form step and adjusting the form’s JavaScript behavior to ensure that when the Next button is clicked, the page scrolls to the top of the next step. This would require custom coding beyond the capabilities of Elementor Pro forms. Alternatively, you may consider exploring third-party plugins specifically designed for multi-step forms with improved mobile usability.

It’s important to note that while we strive to assist our users to the best of our ability, implementing custom code falls outside the scope of Elementor support. We’re here to help point you in the right direction and provide recommendations.

I hope this information helps guide you towards a solution. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

I just want to add concerning the steps loading on mobiles that this is NOT a feature or a need to customize for special need. This is a BUG. There is no way a form or any web page should load the bottom instead of the top page or form section (step) (unless there are anchors). This is what happens on mobiles when going between steps in the Elementor Form widget. This should be fixed.

I am surprised that other Elementor Pro Forms users using steps don’t complain about that. If my setup is the problem, then the Elementor support team should have helped me. I’m disappointed.
