• This is both a request to see if a hack like this exists, and if not, this is a plea to someone that is good with PHP (Which I am not) to design something like this.
What I want, is a hack that will let me display a post that happened a year ago on the day that the user visits the site. Even better, if I could do on this day a year ago, a month ago, a week ago, that would be even better.
I’m sure it’s an easy DB query, but…I suck at databases, and suck at PHP, as I said.

  • Hmmm. You’d probably want this as an extension to get_archives if there isn’t a way already. I’d think you’d want it as “Posts in history”, with links to the historical posts, rather than splatting the post body in with the main flow. That’s just me.
Should be doable, and once set-up making it year vs month vs week is just a matter of math of some sort on the current date. ??

i think he’s after something like on https://iwalt.com on the sidebar

Ummm, the iWalt sidebar thing that has >upcoming< countdowns? That’s the only date-offset thing I know on the iWalt sidebar.
I think he’s really going for the “A year ago today in MyBlog:” sort of archive links…

yeah, walt’s got one on his sidebar to

    Mike also does this here:

I’d love to get this on my site as well…
Does anyone know the code for this for 1.2?
    thanks,
