• Just installed this plugin and was greeted with the following notice on all admin pages:

Notice: Use of undefined constant NONCE_SALT – assumed ‘NONCE_SALT’ in [unique file path omitted]/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/backwpup.php on line 161

I’ve used it before with no issues, but this doesn’t work, because the client will see this notice as well.

The notice was also printing on the front facing pages of the website! Bad!

I have to delete this plugin and am looking at other solutions for backups. Backups are an area where bugs are just not acceptable.

I guess some things you just have to pay for.

It is telling you that the quotes are missing! NONCE_SALT – assumed ‘NONCE_SALT’ I got the same error so this is one plugin that needs some updating. Hard to believe that anyone would let this drag on for months.

Now it crashed again What a waste of time.”I guess some things you just have to pay for.” Then it should not be in the repository! I have never seen such a lame plugin in 5 years of using WordPress.

Same error here, only noticed when you put define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); in your wp-config otherwise it’s hidden. Good plugin though despite this.

So define( 'WP_DEBUG', false ); will hide the message

    Is fixed in next release.
