• On our ‘Social Image Settings’ we have set “Output multiple OpenGraph image tags” as well as “Social Image Fallback URL” and yet when links are shared via iMessage (mobile or on mac) thumbnails are missing.

In other words, I’m facing an issue where OpenGraph images on my site load perfectly on social apps but fail to display as thumbnails in iMessage. I have multiple og:image tags set up correctly, and the images are properly sized and formatted. However, iMessage doesn’t seem to recognize them, while other sites’ thumbnails appear just fine in iMessage.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or is there a specific configuration I should be aware of to ensure compatibility with iMessage?

    Thanks in advance!

    Howdy!

Apple Messages uses Open Graph to generate snippets. Here’s their documentation about this feature: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/technotes/tn3156-create-rich-previews-for-messages.

I inspected several pages on your site and couldn’t find a page that didn’t adhere to Apple’s requirements (“guidelines”).

But their requirements are vague. What I found is that many of your pages show a “portrait” image instead of a “landscape” one. Maybe it’ll help to use a square or landscape image.

But maybe what you encountered might’ve been a fluke. For example, Private Relay couldn’t reach your website or another Apple service was down. These types of issues are out of my control.

Your website also appears to be hosted via Cloudflare, and perhaps Apple flagged its servers for sending spam, which also affected your site. You could try bypassing Cloudflare’s proxy and see if that improves the situation.
