    Hello,

Actually I want the translation of woocommerce product variation, for this I installed Woocommerce Multilingual Plugin along with WPML Media, WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation, WPML Translation Management.
But I am having problem on activation of woocommerce multilingual plugin, whenever I activate this plugin, my product categories pages are redirecting to 404 page.
Whenever I create a product in dashboard while translating it to other language it is redirecting to Woocommerce multilingual plugin page settings instead of creating another post.

Please reply me as soon as possible,
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi meenashah,

When you activate WooCommerce Multilingual, it handles all product translations, so whenever you click on that ‘+’ or ‘pencil’ icon next to any product you’ll be redirected to our product translation GUI. We recommend you to use it to translate your products as it’s easier and can handle synchronization in a better way.

As for the 404 errors on category pages, have you checked if you have translated the ‘product-category’ slugs (from permalinks page) in WPML>Strings Translation? People sometimes forgot about it and end up with non-translated urls that give 404 errors.

    Thanks,
    Bernat

    Hello Bernattorras,

Sorry, I tried your instructions but it didn’t work out. Yes, after activating woocommerce mutilingual Plugin, on click of pencil icon it should create new post for other language but instead of creating another post it is redirecting to woocommerce multilingual plugin window.I dont know why I am having such problems.

I tried translating my permalinks, still it didnot work. It works on default permalink but it doesnot work with other…… Please help me as soon as possible my client is very furious……….

    Hi meenashah,

In fact what you’re experiencing is the default behavior of WCML. If you try to translate a product (or edit a product translation) you’ll be redirected to WPML>WooCommerce Multilingual>Products. From there you should translate all your products, categories, attributes, etc. If you want to do it in the old native way (not recommended) you can change it selecting ” Go to the native WooCommerce product editing screen” in WPML>WooCommerce Multilingual>General Settings [Product Translation Interface].

As for your 404 issue, I suggest you to open a ticket in our WPML.org support forum. From there we’ll be able to check your configuration directly and help you in a better way.

    Thanks!

    Hello bernattorras,

Thanks alot for the reply, Variation translation is working great for me.

But still have 404 issue, sorry I dont have WPML.org forum username and password. As this plugin is provided by my client so I didnt have access of it. Even I asked with my client regarding Username and password of WPML.org, he is saying that he lost the credentials. Is there any way out regarding my problem, if you can help me I can provide you my Website access.

I have to complete this task as soon as possible. Hoping for your positive reply as soon as possible. Please help me out from this problem……………….

    Hi meenashah,

Glad to read its working now. ??

As for the 404 page, you should try to save your permalinks again and be sure that all your strings appearing in Permalinks page are translated in WPML>Strings Translation. You can also try to delete the ‘product-category’ translation (and the other permalink slugs if you want) and try to translate again (make sure that the translations are marked as complete). If it is still not working, could you paste here the generated urls in both languages (specifying which works and which not).

You could also check if you’re still able to replicate the issue with any default WP theme (like twentyfourteen) or with all the plugins deactivated (except woocommerce & wpml plugins). If the issue gets solved it will mean that it is a compatibility problem. In that case you should tell us the theme/plugin affected and we’ll work with the authors to make it compatible.

I’m sorry but the only way I can ask you for credentials is in the wpml.org forum… I suggest you to ask your client to apply the ‘forgot password’ form to get his credentials back and post a ticket in the forum. ?? (https://wpml.org/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword)

    Thanks,
    Bernat

    Hello Bernattoras

I am having problem on upgrade of wordpress to 4.0.1, while uploading images, new images throwing an unspecified HTTP error when uploading, not showing thumbnails in the Media Library, just grey placeholders (although previously existing thumbnails were fine).

I found out the reason, its because of WPML Media plugin, on deactivating it the problem is solved. But I want to solve the problem when WPML Media Plugin is active. Please help me with it ??

    Hi meenashah,

Well thats strange! I think the best would be to open a new ticket in WPML.org support forum. This way we’ll be able to log in your site to check what can be wrong and help you in a better way. Just be sure to include a description of your problem and clear steps to replicate the issue.

    Thanks,
    Bernat
