    Hi There,

Is there anyway we can ommit the first dependency rule on any of my products ? I would like my customer to complete a checkout from a particular category before they can proceed checking out on another.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Wen Jun.

    Hey @wjyeshealth,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We are not sure that we fully understand what you are trying to achieve here. Could you please provide some more details?

Is there a chance that you have added Purchase Dependencies to all the products in your store but you’d like customers to make their first order without any dependencies taking effect?

If so, then it is not possible to create dependency exceptions like this out of the box. To achieve the result you have in mind, please consider implementing a custom coded solution. For customizations of this scale our top recommendation is https://codeable.io/.

    Hi Jason Kytros,

Yes I am trying to add category dependencies. What I am trying to achieve is for example if somoebody wants to buy something from category a, i want them to purchase everything only from category a and checkout before buying something from category b. But upon testing I cant even add my first product into the shopping cart from category a, as the dependency rule has already been applied that the shopping cart requires items from category a first.

Therefore was just wondering if ommiting first item of shopping cart is allowed with this plugin, before the rule for dependencies is possible.

    .

No, that’s not possible using Product Dependencies.

As far as we understand, you’d like to prevent products from different categories from being bought together. Is that correct?

If so, then this is not one of the use cases that Product Dependencies covers. Nevertheless, doing a quick search online I found various guides explaining how to achieve this by writing some custom code — here’s an example: https://aelia.co/woocommerce-only-allow-specific-product-combinations-in-cart/.

Let us know if this helps!
