My apologies – please don’t be angry, this is free support you are getting for a free plugin after all!

The meter shouldn’t of course go up and down on its own accord if set up statically. Are you using PayPal integration? The only scenario I can envisage this happening is if you have linked the Olimometer to a PayPal account and the Olimometer is tracking the balance of that account. If the balance of the account increases due to donations, the Olimometer will go up. If you withdraw money from that PayPal account, the balance decreases and therefore the Olimometer’s progress value will also decrease.

Do you have a URL I can visit to see the problem in action?

HI, Oshingler! Thanks and I apologize for “shouting.” It wasn’t a shout. In the genealogy world online (something I do, separately from this project) we capitalize surnames so they are noticed. I didn’t think about the shouting part. Although I do remember thinking, “Why won’t this query stick?”

In answer to your question about the donations, yes, it is linked to a global PayPal account, which is used for a variety of things. How do I make sure it only tracks donations? I thought I had used the “donate” button I created from within the client’s paypal account. When I called PayPal, they said that there was a script error, but didn’t go into it. Told me to contact the developer.

You can see the meter in two places:
    Home Page: https://pacificfreedomfoundation.org/
    Donate Page: https://pacificfreedomfoundation.com/donate/

Thank you for your review of this issue!

I’m afraid that currently you can’t track donations individually using the plugin – it just tracks the balance of a given account. I don’t have any plans to add transaction tracking in the near future because this would require a hefty overhaul of the plugin as it’s a significant change.

A quick Google around has turned up a number of plugins which would track the balance, such as Seamless Donations. Perhaps I can figure out a way to get my Olimometer to track the total provided by that plugin instead. I’ll leave this open until I’ve had a chance to look in to this.

Thanks so much! I’l look forward to finding this out once you are able to share.
