We turned on syncing before we started actually shipping through ShipStation. For the most part this hasn’t been a problem as when orders shipped from our store via the old method ShipStation caught it and updated.

There are a handful of orders that did not get updated, though. They are marked as “Completed” in WooCommerce but ShipStation still shows them as awaiting shipment. What is the best way to resolve this status in ShipStation? Should we just cancel them there, or will this push back data to WooCommerce?

Canceling in ShipStation shouldn’t push back data to your store:

That said, I would also suggest reaching out to ShipStation support about the problem orders in case they can look at their logs and see why those orders did not update.

They have no logs or so they say.

Very well, the source of the problem may be unknowable. At any rate, we wouldn’t expect that canceling an order in Shipstating would push data back to your store.

Again, NOT RESOLVED, at least the question wasn’t fully answered.

Hmm, looking back at what’s been discussed already, I am not quite sure which part you’d like to know more about.

I think you’re asking about this question, right?

They are marked as “Completed” in WooCommerce but ShipStation still shows them as awaiting shipment. What is the best way to resolve this status in ShipStation?

I recommend following these instructions to update the status in ShipStation and mark them as shipped, if you’d like the status updated on the ShipStation side.

The alternative would be to cancel the order in ShipStation, in which case we wouldn’t expect ShipStation to push that data back to your store, especially if you deselect “Notify Marketplace.” This option would send updates back to WooCommerce if it were selected.

Please let us know how that goes or if you need further help!
