Older Archives Return 404 Error

  • I migrated a Blogger blog to WordPress in May of 2015. I have an edited 2010 Theme.

    My dropdown Archives work fine on all posts back to May 2015. Any archives before May, that would include the entries from the old Blogger entries, return a 404 error, unless I use default permalinks. Default permalinks let me access the Archive links back to June of 2004. When using a Custom Permalink structure, even with .html I can go to older individual posts just fine. Only in Archives are the older months not accessible.

    For the record, I host at GoDaddy Windows Classic hosting.

    I have deleted .htaccess and changed permissions to allow rewrite. At the moment the .htaccess files are empty. I also updated webconfig to no avail. Deactivated and reactivated plug-ins with no access. So far only default permalinks allows me to access older Archives.
