Old Word Press Theme Still Showing Up

  • Hi Fellow WordPressers (ya, thats a thing),

    I was experimenting with themes before building out my site and switched from Hestia to Astra. After the switch, the home page of my site is still showing content from Hestia. I cleared my cache, tried publishing (instead of just saving as a draft) and restored an older version of my site and tried downloading and installing Astra again… But nothing. Hestia content keeps showing up on my home page.

    Any ideas of what I can try?

  • Is the site in question the one in your WordPress user profile?

    If so, I see the site is running the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme, and I don’t see any remnants of the Hestia theme or even the Astra theme at all. Please see the screenshot below.

    If you’re referring to a different site, kindly provide the correct address so we can take a look for you.

    NB: Still referring to the address in your user profile, kindly note that the site address is not configured properly: all links go to your hosting provider Bluehost’s temporary URL https://wyd.fxx.mybluehost.me/. But that’s a separate issue unrelated to the theme issue you’re reporting.

    Thank you so much for your quick reply George. I ended up calling Bluehost and they reset my website for me. We tried a few fixes over the phone but nothing was working. Since I hadn’t put much time into the site, I opted to do a hard reset and start over.

    I think this time I will follow a YouTube guide instead of venturing on my own during set up.
