• I suspect I’ve got a question you haven’t seen too many times…

I’m inherited a site with an old version of WooCommerce and its plugins. I’m working on updating as many plugins as possible before updating Woo itself.

Here are the versions I’m looking at:

    WooCommerce 3.3.5
    Color Filters for WooCommerce 1.2.2

    Yeah, I know…

    Hosting is on WP Engine.

When I update to Ultimate WooCommerce Filters, everything in the management system seems fine. The filters are all there in the new UWF management section.

But the widget no longer displays the color filter selection on the customer facing side of the site.

Ok, no problem. I drag a new copy of the widget over to the sidebar, save, and reload. And nothing.

So, I rolled the version back to fix the problem for now.

Is this because Ultimate WooCommerce Filters won’t work with a version of Woo that’s this old? It’s fine if that’s the case, but I’m trying to get as many things up to date before going after the core plugin.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Brian,

Do you have an actual set shop page on that site? (What I mean is, in the WooCommerce settings, you can set which page is your shop page.) The widget gets applied only to that shop page, as set in the WooCommerce settings.

I bet that’s the problem. I just put it in the same widget as the old version. I guess this changed somewhere along the way.

To include in a sidebar site wide, should I use the short code in a text field?

I’ve tried sticking the short code in a text widget, and it doesn’t seem to resolve. Not sure what to try next.

You need to be using this on the shop page. It will only work on the shop page. If you’re trying to find a way to make it work on a non-shop page, unfortunately, that is currently not possible.

Ok, where does one use the [ultimate-woocommerce-filters] short code, if it works no where but the shop page?

On the shop page. For example, you might want to place the filters somewhere other than in one of your theme’s widget areas.
