Old variation name appearing cart

Hello

I am maintaining a store that sells party favors.

Recently the name of an attribute that is being used for product variations was changed from “Clear (Cello)” to “Standard (any colour)”.

This variation is the default for the products it’s used for.

In the cart, these items appear with the old attribute name still, but with the new one indicated underneath in brackets, e.g.:

Koko Party Bag – Clear (Cello)
Colour: Standard (any colour)

Other variations that haven’t been renamed and are not the default variation appear with only the product name and correct variation, not the second line underneath as in the example above, e.g.:

Bambam Party Bag – Metallic Silver (Paper)

How can I get the new attribute/variation name *ONLY* to appear in the cart? Ideally the first example would appear as the second, e.g.:

Koko Party Bag – Standard (any colour)
