Old site isn't being updated with the new wordpress site

  • I have just changed hosts recently. I have attempted to update the website https://www.newtechtools.co.uk but it seem to have lost all the themes/css, though on WordPress the site looks correct within the directory I have created for testing the site. However when I add the web address to site address on WordPress nothing changes to the formatting. Can anyone suggest how to get the site to update?

  • It looks to me that your site is trying to reference back to your test site. Double check that your theme is loaded correctly. It should be in https://www.newtechtools.co.uk/wp-content/themes

    Try to check the option_values of your ‘siteurl’ and ‘home’ from wp-options table of your wordpress database. Make sure that the values is equal to your website name ‘https://www.newtechtools.co.uk ‘.

    To do this, you can refer to these short steps below.

    1. Access phpMyAdmin
    2. Click on your wordpress database.
    3. Click on wp-options table.
    4. Check the ‘home’ and ‘siteurl’ if the values is equal to your website name, otherwise you can edit them.
