Old permalinks still active

    Have tried a redirect? Try reviewing:
    https://yoast.com/which-redirect/
    https://yoast.com/create-301-redirect-wordpress/

    Yes I am using redirects to get by. But I don’t understand why the old permalinks are still active if I remove the redirects. Shouldn’t the old permalinks show a 404 error now that the redirects are removed?

    Hi everyone,

    I’m facing the same issue with the permalinks of a custom post type for which I modified the permalink base. Even though I’ve updated the permalinks, the articles are accessible at both the new URL and the old one. I would like to achieve a 404 error for the old permalinks before implementing a 301 redirect.

    Have you found any solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
