I am having a problem where customers who have placed orders, and are placing a new order are having an old order show up on the cart page.

EX. customer orders a booking and pays successfully no problem

Custome comes back a few days later, orders a new booking and the old booking and the new booking show up in the cart.

It has happened twice. Thanks for the help.

    Hi @asaph11,

This sounds like a caching issue. Are you currently using a caching plugin? If so, please make sure to exclude the cart page. You can read more about this here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/

    I hope it helps.

    Hi Mirko,

Thanks for responding. I do not think I am using a caching plugin. Can you tell me what one does so that I can see if any thing that is running does that action. Sorry if the answer is basic.

    Hi, jn @asaph11!

Can you tell me what one does so that I can see if any thing that is running does that action. Sorry if the answer is basic.

No need to apologize at all! Mirko is right though! In our experience, issues like this are usually due to caching systems, either through a plugin or your hosting provider. It can also be caused by a plugin that indexes customer sessions incorrectly.

Are you able to reproduce the issue? If not, conflict testing would be very tricky.

In this case, I would recommend first confirming under WP Admin > Plugins if you have any caching and optimization plugins installed. I would also suggest checking with your hosting provider if they have caching on their end.

    Hi @asaph11,

We’ve not heard back from you in a while and we may soon be marking this thread as resolved for the general health of the forum.

Just to check, were you able to make some headway with the issue by either disabling your caching plugin or conflict testing as advised above?

    Thanks.

    Sorry,

I have been overloaded with some other issues.

I am not sure if I have solved the issue or not. I cannot replicate the issue, but I still have clients with problems logging in.

Not sure how to proceed with testing since I cannot make the log in problem happen.

    Thanks for your help.

Steps I have taken so far,

    Backed up site

    updated all plugins

    Disabled any non essential plugins

    Hi, @asaph11!

No need to apologize at all!

The issues with logging in don’t seem to be related to the one about old orders showing up in the cart. That said, are your clients seeing any particular error messages?

And you’re right! Without being able to replicate the issue, it’s difficult to address what’s causing it.

Steps I have taken so far,

    Backed up site

    updated all plugins

    Disabled any non essential plugins

These are all very good steps to take! Hopefully, they at least take care of the first issue with old orders in the cart. Please do continue monitoring the issue, and keep us updated if it crops up again.

In your very first message, you mentioned bookings. I’m sorry I didn’t ask this earlier, but can you let us know which plugin you’re using for that? You can check it under WP Admin > Plugins.
