• Hi guys,

    I just installed wordpress via a godaddy hosting account.
    The website is called https://newyorkwoodflooring.com/.

    However, The website does not show the wordpress platform but an image from the old website. I cannot edit anything even though I am logged in the wordpress dashboard. Can you guys please help!!!???

    You need to remove the index.html page from root. The old site should have been removed from (or archived) the root directory before installing WordPress, if your intent was to have just the WordPress site served from your root directory.

    ..just an afterthought, make sure the DirectoryIndex option in your sites server settings will serve index.php files as well as index.html.

    How can I remove the index.html file from the root folder???

    With your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel. Don’t simply delete it if you don’t have a backup of the site and ever plan on using it (the old files) again.
