Hi, every time I restore my site from a previous backup, your plugin creates a copy of almost every folder, naming it “old.” This is not what I want because it occupies a lot of space.

What can I do to prevent your plugin from creating these “old” folders/files? Alternatively, if it creates them, how can I bulk delete them?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

After the restoration has completed there should be a notification on your dashboard with a button to delete them as per this screenshot.

You can’t prevent them from being created as UpdraftPlus creates these directories to give a ‘last-chance’ backup point in case the restoration fails – they contain the files needed to manually restore the site back to its original state.

as you can see on the screenshot, After the restoration has completed, there is no button to delete “old” folder / files.

    ALSO:
After restoration, if i try to login to the dashboard (backend of wp) i cant because there is an error appering, saying “too many redirections”. check here: https://postimg.cc/XX9bQ9MM

this is how it looks after restoration (with NO button to delete old folder files) https://postimg.cc/KRkgqZ73

    Hello,

Please take a look at this link on some troubleshooting steps to help solve the “too many redirects” issue.

You could start with renaming your plugins folder to temporarily de-active all plugins and allow access to the admin dashboard.

In terms of the button to delete old folders it will be available on the UpdraftPlus >> Settings page at the top.
